A teenage girl was left shaken after she escaped a suspected kidnap attempt in Kidderminster.
A male driver stopped near King Charles I High School at the junction of Station Hill and Chester Road and leaned out of the window to shout across to the 16-year-old girl, walking on the opposite side.
He asked her where she was going and said he would take her there. When she refused to get in the car, he became aggressive and told her to get in, opening the door.
Other cars behind began tooting their horns and he drove off in the direction of Bromsgrove.
The incident happened at around 12.45pm on Tuesday.
The man is described as black, well built, and believed to be tall, in his mid-30s, with a bald head and some facial hair. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing and driving a small purple car.
A police spokeswoman said the motive for the incident was not known but added: "It is concerning."
She said: "We would like anyone who recognises the description of the driver or the car, or any other drivers who saw it happen, to contact us on 08457 448888 or ring Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111."
It follows a sting of suspicious incidents in Cookley in June, but these are not believed to be linked with the most recent incident.
