Jenkins the cat, who lives with the Swanwick family on Woodford Crescent, has most definitely used up one of his nine lives on his recent adventure.

The two-year old tabby was spotted by the removal team at Robinsons International depot in Redditch as the container was offloaded into storage on Monday. Trevor Stoneman, Robinsons manager, said: "Jenkins must have jumped on board the van.

"As soon as we found him we phoned the number on his collar, but, despite calling every half an hour all day, there was no reply."

It was quite by chance Jenkins' owner, Rachel Swanwick, discovered his whereabouts. "On Tuesday, I heard from the family who moved that a tabby cat had been found in their removal van and was being looked after at Robinsons depot," said Miss Swanwick. "I was lucky to find out what had happened."
