Nick J Townsend, aka Weak 13, has signed a contract with manager Allan Robinson's The White in Manchester and is now waiting for his track "Never Repeat Myself" to hit the airwaves. It has been put out on a white label vinyl – the preferred choice of DJs – and sent to around 250 radio stations and 600 of the country's top DJs. The 31-year-old said: "The song, Never Repeat Myself, was written in a cafe which is now called Ten Bar in Kidderminster during 2004. It started off as an acoustic track and now it's been recorded as a rock anthem, I just decided one day to write the most commercial repetitive song in the world."  Read the full story in the Express & Star.

He added: "In a modern day world of MP3s and iPods it's amazing to have one of our songs put on to white vinyl, something which top DJs swear by. I'm over the moon as now I've been recognised by the music professionals as a talented songwriter. It looks like my future and the future of Weak 13 is looking wonderful."

Robinson, who has been a key player in the music industry for more than 30 years and is a partner of Manchester's influential venue Electric Circus, has worked with acts including David Bowie and UB40.
