The History of Stourbridge exhibition will be held in the Crown Centre, opposite the library, until Saturday. Organised by Dudley Council's Archives and Local History Service, it features historical images and documents, plus art workshops for children to paint and create glass designs. Councillor Michael Evans, cabinet member for library services, said: "This exhibition will offer residents and visitors to Stourbridge an ideal opportunity to learn more about the town's glorious glass-making history. The History of Stourbridge exhibition will be held in the Crown Centre, opposite the library, until Saturday.

Organised by Dudley Council's Archives and Local History Service, it features historical images and documents, plus art workshops for children to paint and create glass designs.

It forms part of a three-year Black Country archives initiative called Documenting the Workshop of the World, aimed at cataloguing and making historical business records accessible to the public.

It is open today and tomorrow and from 1pm to 4pm on Thursday August 16, Friday August 17 and Saturday August 18.

Glass painting workshops for children aged six upwards run between midday and 2pm today and tomorrow. Stained glass window making workshops for children aged five to 12 run on Thursday August 16 and Friday August 17 from 1pm to 3pm and mosaic glass design workshops for those aged five to 12 run from 1pm to 3pm on August 18.

All workshops are free, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Workshops for adults to learn how to trace their family history are also being held on August 15.
