A Cannock firm has scooped a national award for becoming a big success from scratch in four years.
Damar Homes, which began as a family firm in 2003, is to receive one of the coveted UK Property Awards at a glittering gala dinner in London in October.
The company, which is based at Park Plaza, in Heath Hayes, has received official notification of its success adding a further feather in the cap for founders Andy Dace and Ian Marsh.
The duo started the business in 2003 and have quickly gained a reputation for innovation and excellence.
The company claims to concentrate on quality and has created tailor-made developments to suit individual locations with an emphasis on the buildings blending into their surroundings.
Damar Homes recently completed developments in Hednesford, Sutton Coldfield, Willenhall and Great Barr. Other sites currently under construction are in Wolverhampton, Hednesford, Darlaston, Huntington and Walsall Wood.
The UK Property Awards are considered a symbol of excellence in the house building industry.
Entries were judged by a panel of professionals chaired by Eric Pickles, shadow secretary of state for communities and local government with Imtiaz Farookhi, chief executive of the National House Building Council, Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents, and Phil Spencer, property expert and presenter of Channel 4's Location and Relocation TV shows.
Andy Dace, one of the founders and directors of Damar Homes, said: "We are delighted to learn that we have won another award, following on from our previous success in the competition last year.
"Damar is a relatively young company, but we have already got a great reputation in the Midlands for the quality of our homes, and our sales figures speak for themselves.
"The key to our success is that we know our business inside out, we build on good sites in excellent locations and we pay attention to detail. Damar is growing fast, our workforce has nearly doubled in the last year, and we plan to go even further."
