Heather Harris has worked behind the bar at The Foresters Arms in Wollaston, Stourbridge, for around two years.

Staff and customers at the pub in Bridgnorth Road have been glued to newspapers and the television over the last couple of days for news from the Isle of Wight where the 20-year-old went missing at sea.

Margaret Hayward, who is standing in for owners Phil and Sue Gardiner, said: "Phil and Sue are on holiday themselves at the moment but they will be devastated when they get back and find out what has happened.

"Heather was a lovely bubbly girl and everyone loves her here. Her father phoned up to tell us what had happened and everyone has just been in shock since."

Neighbours were also stunned at the news in Woodfield Avenue in Wollescote where Heather lived with her family.

One neighbour, who didn't want to be named, said: "They are a really nice family and Heather is a great girl. It is terrible something like this has happened, we just can't believe it."

Heather went missing on Wednesday along with friend Richard Perry, of Victoria Street, Brierley Hill, after they went out on a boat off the coast of the Isle of Wight. Mr Perry's body was pulled from the sea. His rigid inflatable boat was found with no-one on board.
