Soldier wins fight for bride
A former Staffordshire Regiment soldier forced to live 1,500 miles apart from his new Ukrainian bride was today jubiliant after winning a seven-month immigration battle to bring her to Wolverhampton.

David Evans shook with emotion after a judge at Walsall County Court overturned a Home Office ruling preventing his wife Tanya from coming to live with him in Fordhouses.
Judge Miss Moira Dawson told a delighted David: "In layman's terms, you've won."
The 23-year-old was expecting to wait several weeks before a decision was made but today's hearing took less than 10 minutes. The Home Office, which believed the couple married for convenience, could yet appeal.
David said: "I'm over the moon. I just can't believe it. I never expected to be told today. We think Tanya could be living here by September."
He met 20-year-old Tanya, from Kherson in the Ukraine, when they both worked at City Link in Walsall.
