Chief executive Peter Suddock said: "We're thrilled that Corgi has chosen to reproduce our J2 van as part of our big birthday year. We have got 350 on order here and we think it will be a major seller.
"Like a lot of things at the zoo, it had a character of its own and was much loved.
"It will make a fantastic memento of the occasion and is just one of many activities we have planned, which range from the opening of Monkey Tails, a walkthrough rainforest to a display of memorabilia from the past seven decades and courtyard concerts with Katherine Jenkins, Australian Pink Floyd and Status Quo."
Corgi Collectables marketing manager Jill Edwards said: "Seventy years is a real milestone and Corgi is delighted to help mark the anniversary with the release of this very special model.
"We hope it will bring back many happy memories," she added. The model, which retails at £20.99, is available from the Zoo's safari shop or can be purchased online.
The zoo opened its gates to the public for the first time on May 18, 1937, with more than 50,000 visitors cramming in for the first day.
The 70th anniversary year will also mark the start of an ambitious future at the attraction with plans for a £10 million revamp due to start later this year.
The redevelopment of the Castle Hill site will include themed journeys through different habitats and an 80,000 sq ft garden centre.
