The lucky in love couple were married on the seventh day of the seventh month in the seventh year of the new millennium.
And their luck stretched to the weather as the atrocious rain of the past two months managed to hold off for the big day on Saturday. Nicola, 26, and Bryn, 36, who live in Cheslyn Hay, were among the many couples across the country who tied the knot on the auspicious date of 7/7/07.
The couple, who were married at St John's Church, Essington, near Wolverhampton on Saturday afternoon, said that they had a fantastic day and were thrilled that the weather stayed fine.
"It was brilliant from start to finish," said Nicola, who hails from Wolverhampton.
"We'd been concerned about the weather but it didn't rain at all on Saturday. It was great," said the newlywed. The couple, who both work for Homeserve in Walsall, had four bridesmaids, who were dressed in rose pink gowns, and three bestmen.
Following the service, wedding guests enjoyed a reception at the Moxhull Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield. Cake makers, wedding venues and bridal shops across the West Midlands were inundated with requests for bookings for the 7/7/07 date – with many couples making reservations in advance for the date.
