Cannock Chase District Council is working in partnership with the hotel to celebrate the launch of the ban in England.
From July 1, it will be against the law to smoke in virtually all enclosed public places, workplaces and in public and work vehicles.
At 9.30am there will be a brief ceremony outside the main entrance of the Ramada Hotel, in Bridge Street, to commemorate the introduction of the new legislation.
This will be followed by the release of 48 red, heart-shaped balloons into the sky to represent the estimated 48 lives lost in the hospitality industry every year in the United Kingdom from exposure to second-hand smoke.
Breakfast will be served to invited guests in the glass-panelled Sky Room, looking out over the district. The event is also being supported by the British Heart Foundation.
The new law is being introduced to protect employees and the public from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke.
Medical and scientific evidence shows that exposure to second-hand smoke increases the risk of serious medical conditions such as lung cancer, heart disease, asthma attacks, childhood respiratory disease, sudden infant death syndrome and reduced lung function.
It is estimated that the new no-smoking law will save thousands of lives over the next decade.
