Poor weather at the weekend meant the event, organised by Friends of the Bratch at the station which was built in 1895, was not as well attended as usual.
Chief engineer Les Crane said: "It's a shame about the weather but as long as there are a few people to enjoy it, it's worth opening up."
The two engines at the site – Victoria and Alexandra – provided water to Bilston before electric pumps were introduced in the 1960s.
When pumping ceased the engines fell in to disrepair and thieves took valuable parts and the elaborate pumphouse was vandalised.
In 1990 Mr Crane, of Lanesfield, Wolverhampton, now 73, was invited to restore it by owners Severn Trent. He said: "As a steam lover there was nothing better to be given to do and I feel so proud to see people enjoying it."
Alan Baker, 61, of Brierley Hill, had his 1929 steam-powered roller on display. The engine spent its working life in Portugal and was bought 10 years ago for restoration.
He said: "It has been a real labour of love. I didn't take a days holiday in nine years.
"My kids might sell it when I'm gone but as long as I'm around it's going nowhere. I love it." Cousins Heather Oakes, of Stourton, and Jane Wright, of Lancashire, had not seen each other for seven years but met at the event.
Mrs Oakes said: "We have spent the whole time catching up while our husbands have looked around and we can't tear them away."
