Youngsters from Cannock swapped their comfy beds for the school hall as part of a fundraising sleepover.

Forty youngsters from Moorhill Infant School's fun club headed back to school on Saturday evening armed with their sleeping bags as part of BT's Giant Sleepover in aid of Childline and the club's summer activities.

Their parents dropped their children off at the Moorland Road facility at 5pm where they enjoyed games and DVDs. Some pupils, who are aged between six and 11, also performed a song and dance show. Eight fun club staff took part in the sleepover and ensured the children got their forty winks.

Jackie Bate, fun club assistant manager, said: "Everyone was really excited. It was a really fun way of raising funds for charity as well as the club itself."

Parents collected their children at 9.30am on Sunday.
