Dr Clive Prince, chairman of the Wyre Forest Cycle Forum, said: "Cycling is a great way to get out and about, especially for short journeys.
"It's stress-free and the health and environmental benefits are very clear.
"In 30 minutes a healthy cyclist can cover five miles without breaking into a sweat.
"And in traffic-congested urban areas, a bike is typically the fastest mode of transport."
Anyone wanting to find out more about the cycle routes in the area can pick up a copy of the The Wyre Forest District Walking And Cycling Map at Worcestershire Hub, Wyre Forest District Council's customer service centre at the town hall.
They are also available from Bewdley Tourist Information and Kidderminster Treatment Centre.
