The attack happened in Stankyln Lane near Stone when a man wearing a ski mask grabbed her from behind.

The woman had run into the lane from Comberton Road and had gone about a mile and a half towards Worcester Road when she was grabbed and pushed into a hedge.

As the woman scrambled to her feet, the attacker tried to grab her again but she knocked him off balance and jumped over a barbed wire fence.

She ran into some woods before re-emerging on to Stanklyn Lane by Spennells House. The woman then ran back into Kidderminster to her home where she alerted police.

The woman suffered cuts and grazes in the attack around 6am yesterday but did not require hospital treatment.

She described her attacker as 6ft, slim and white with a tanned complexion, dark eyes and a pointed nose that was visible through a black or navy blue ski mask.

He was also wearing a thin, black, waist-length jacket and black, fleece-style tracksuit bottoms which were elasticated around the ankles. As he stood over the woman she had also noticed a "musty or stale" smell.

Det Con Brian Mortelmans said he was keen to talk to the occupants of a white, Transit-style van with a horizontal stripe which passed the woman as she rejoined the lane about a minute after the attack.

Dc Mortelmans said: "This was a traumatic experience for the woman and obviously could have been a lot worst."
