Details of this year's pantomime at Cannock's Prince of Wales Centre have been announced.

Classic tale Jack and the Beanstalk will be at the Church Street venue this year to entertain pantomime fans.

Theatre bosses are hoping it will share the success of last year's sell-out performances of Cinderella.

The same firm, PMA Productions, has been invited back to produce the show.

It will open on Christmas Eve and run for 12 performances through to New Year's Eve and tickets are already on sale.

The theatre has a range of events on its calendar for the rest of the year and music fans will be able to see The Bootleg Shadows on Saturday, Magic – A Tribute To Queen on April 27 and Led Zeppelin tribute Whole Lotta LED on May 10.

Cannock Wood & Gentleshaw Music Society will perform Oklahoma! between May 2 and 6 and Aldridge Musical Comedy Society performs Calamity Jane on May 17-19.

Hits from big-name musicals will fill the venue on May 12 when Beyond The Barricade is staged.

Songs from Miss Saigon, The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, We Will Rock You, Chicago, Blood Brothers and others will be performed

Comedy sketches, jokes and songs will be on the stage on May 25 when Back to Back is performed with Birmingham comic and writer Malcolm Stint.
