Tory club's name change
A Tory club near Wolverhampton is set to distance itself from politics by dropping the party name for the first time in its 35 year history.

Codsall Conservative Club in Station Road will become The Firs.
Chairman John Allen said today: "We are looking to remarket the club and a new image will allow us to draw in a more diverse membership.
"Although we house Conservative Association offi-ces, we have never actually been affiliated to the party.
"It must be remembered that many young people are politically neutral and we need to have an eye on the future."
Steward Pete Thomas said the name change was overdue and came as a new £180,000 function room is to be unveiled on Saturday.
David Billson, chairman of the South Staffordshire Conservative Association, said he could understand the decision.
He said: "I have been a member at Codsall Conservative Club for many years and its facilities are first class.
"Maybe calling the venue The Firs will attract a more politically neutral clientele, but I still believe politics is as important in people's lives as ever. I also believe there is still a place for Conservative clubs."
