A total of just under 7,000 tickets have been snapped up by fans wanting to see The Feeling, Jools Holland or James Morrison.

Organisers revealed they were pleased with ticket sales so far and expected the events to be a success.

Alastair Semple, of the Forestry Commission, said sales had now entered the final 1,000 for The Feeling on June 22. Around 2,000 tickets have been sold for James Morrison on June 23 and 1,000 for Jools Holland on June 24. There are 4,500 tickets for each concert.

Mr Semple said: "The feedback we have had from our national team that negotiates with the bands is that, usually, with young artists who have big hits you get a sudden rush of sales when they are doing well.

"When the expected audience is slightly older, the sales are more gradual and that is what we are seeing with Cannock Chase."

All three concerts will take place at Birches Valley.

Jools Holland will be joined by Lulu, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall. For tickets ring 01842 814612 or visit www.forestry.gov. uk/music
