A fourth boy has been arrested over the ball bearing gun shootings at a Rugeley school.

All four, who were arrested on suspicion of assault, had their bail extended for a further week and they will report back for further interview on March 25.

The arrests followed the incident at Etching Hill Primary School on Thursday afternoon in which 17 children were shot at while they played. The children, aged between seven and 11-years-old, suffered minor injuries from plastic pellets fired into the playground with BB guns.

Parents in the area have now been advised by police to throw away such guns or to hand them in at Rugeley police station as part of an amnesty.
