Staff at schools in Wolverhampton are now making regular checks on personal videos website YouTube in case any more inappropriate clips are uploaded by students.

Bosses of Northicote School in Bushbury and Aldersley High School have taken action after some of their pupils were found to be involved.

The first shocking clip showed a pupil at Northicote being ambushed from behind and pulled backwards off his chair. It appeared to have been filmed by a classmate inside the school.

The second video showed the same victim being slapped to the head by another boy.

The mages were viewed by hundreds of people but have now been removed by the site at the request of the schools.

John Morgan, deputy headteacher of Northicote, confirmed one pupil had been excluded as a result of the incidents.

He said: "We were extremely concerned to learn these video clips existed.

"As soon as they were brought to our attention we contacted YouTube to have them removed from the site.

"We have identified the students concerned and taken the appropriate action in accordance with school policy."

A student has also been suspended at Aldersley High School.

The teenage girl was initially punished for fighting with another pupil but when the video was posted on YouTube, the severity of the attack was revealed and she was suspended again.

Deputy headteacher Phil Lambert said: "This behaviour is totally unacceptable. We view this as a really nasty case. It was an unpleasant attack and the fact that it was put on the internet means the bullying was spread to a greater population."

He said the school became aware of the video through playground gossip and acted quickly to get it removed.
