It is thought Wrenbridge will have completed the warehouse at Kingswood Lakeside business park, which is close to the M6 Toll at Churchbridge, by December.

The company announced it has now acquired the site, which already had outline planning permission for such a use, but a detailed planning application has now been lodged to build a 126,000sq ft warehouse.

Talks are due to get under way soon with interested parties with a view to letting the new facility.

Jamie Hockaday, a director at Wrenbridge, said, "The M6 Toll Road has opened up a number of opportunities for the south Staffordshire area, which now offers distributors an exceptionally advantageous location for key depots, for both national and regional distribution.

"Kingswood has emerged as a premier distribution park and our acquisition here is a further expression of our confidence in the market for midsize warehouse facilities in the region."

The site was acquired for £2.8 million from developer Morston Assets and was bought as a joint venture with Gleeson.

Building work will start as soon as planning permission is secured and the opportunity to pre-let the site will be discussed with interested parties shortly.

The 100 acre park is already home to Unilever's £50 million 400,000sq ft national distribution depot and a 65sq ft distribution centre for food service wholesale distributor 3663.

Wrenbridge is a commercial property development company. It was formed in 1993 and is now billed as one of the most active property development companies in the Midlands.
