Many traders fear the store just wants to block supermarket rival Sainsbury's from opening a shop there and is really just interested in the Angel Passage site. However regeneration Councillor Malcolm Knowles today vowed that he would do everything within his power to block Tesco from opening up one unit and neglecting the rest of the centre. He said: "It is all or nothing. We have got big plans for the Crown Centre and we are not going to be told what to do by a supermarket.We have to give them permission to transfer the lease over but we want them to occupy the whole centre."
