The owner of a pizza and kebab house in Lichfield has been ordered to cut his late night opening hours following complaints from police.
Lichfield Pizza and Kebab House on Bird Street will now be closed one hour earlier each night.
At a recent Lichfield District Council licensing committee hearing, police revealed Temel Kongul, the owner of the takeaway, had breached his premises licence by serving after agreed closure times.
Police had asked for the review of the licence to help avoid late night trouble in the city centre - with revellers hanging around into the early hours of the morning - and to protect local people living nearby from late-night noise.
As a result of the police application the committee agreed to reduce the business opening times by one hour a night. It will now close at midnight from Sunday to Tuesday; 12.30am Wednesday and 1pm Thursday to Saturday.
Sergeant Mark Czechowski, Trent Valley divisonal licensing officer, said: "We are pleased the committee agreed to the application which was done for the benefit of people visiting the city."
