The facility in Bell Street attracts hundreds of people every week and is Dudley Council's most profitable leisure centre.
Council bosses today revealed the closure of its main attraction has hit them hard.
It is expected the closure will cost at least £6,000 in lost takings and there is also the cost of the repairs.
The closure has done nothing to reverse fears the centre will fall below its annual target of £909,300.
The centre's bosses were forced to close the pool on November 27 after a party of children fell ill.
It was discovered a faulty extractor fan was not clearing the air of dangerous chlorine fumes and tiling work needed to be done. It could be shut until December 27.
