Stourbridge's Crystal Leisure Centre fun pool will be closed for another week as workers race to complete repairs on a faulty air conditioning system.
Bosses at the Bell Street centre said today that the pool would not reopen until next Monday at the earliest after the entire fan unit had to be replaced. They originally planned to open the pool today.
Dudley Council has not revealed how much money has been lost since the pool closed on November 27 but officers are keen to get repairs completed in time for the holidays next week.
The pool was closed because of health hazards posed by broken equipment - which removes dangerous chlorine fumes in the air.
A party of children became ill after playing in the pool a fortnight ago after suffering vomiting fits, sore throats and stinging eyes.
Tests at the time found no fault with the water quality but the problem was later traced to the fan - with chlorine fumes not being cleared from the hall.
All other parts of the site stayed open while the pool has been closed.
People are being urged to make sure the pool is back in operation before making any plans to visit the pool.
Youngsters who became ill have recovered but parents are still considering whether to pursue compensation.
