Princess Anne is patron of the organisation, and so was to attend this afternoon's service at Lichfield Cathedral. The service moves around the country every year.
The Princess was set to meet members of the public on the lawn outside the cathedral before the service began.
Around 1,000 women from across the country were expected at today's event which was a private occasion not open to the public.
Canon Charles Taylor, precentor at the cathedral, had written today's service and said it was another exciting moment in the cathedral's busy season.
The Princess was also due to visit HMP and YOI Swinfen Hall in her role as patron of The Butler Trust, and the Burton Addiction and O'Connor Centre.
