Anthony Thomas, of Rowley Close, said his son Alex, 21, of Sandpiper Close, was kind, caring and dedicated to saving wildlife.
Alex was riding his 650cc Suzuki SV home from work on Wednesday at about 4.45pm when he collided with three other vehicles between Weeping Cross and Brocton.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The former Kingsmead Technology College student has been described as a joker who had a great sense of fun and a love of life.
His dad Anthony, who was choked to tears, said: "He loved animals more than people in some ways. We bought him his first snake when he was 11.
"He was so caring and was always thinking about the environment, but more than anything he was a truly wonderful and loving person. He lived life right to the full. I would like people to remember his smile."
He added: "We are a very close family. This has devastated us."
Alex worked in the IT department of Areva in Stafford. He lived with girlfriend Rachel Fryer, 23, who described him as her soulmate. She added: "He was always smiling and was positive and strong. He was just such an inspiring person."
Alex's funeral will be held at Stafford Crematorium on Friday at 11.30am.
