Teacher had net pics of children
A teacher at a Wolverhampton school has admitted downloading more than 600 images of child porn.
A judge at the city's crown court gave married father-of-three John Jones a three year community rehabilitation order. He was also banned from working with children for life.
The 47-year-old has been sacked from his role of year and head of department at Colton Hills School in Goldthorn Park.
Police from Wolverhampton swooped on his home in Springhead Road, Wednesbury, after being tipped off by the Metropolitan Police, the court heard.
Jones admitted 20 counts of having indecent images of children.
He was also ordered to attend a sex offenders programme and must sign the sex offenders register for five years.
The court heard Jones had contacted a helpline and seen a psychiatrist the day after he was arrested.
Judge Cybil Thomas told Jones: "It is clear that has had a considerable effect."
