4Sure lose out in X Factor

Black Country boy band 4Sure have been voted out of the X Factor competition but the four friends today vowed not to give up on their dream of musical stardom.

The Wolverhampton four-piece, made up of Jermaine Sanderson, Donovan Bailey, Drew Fisher and Chris Watters, were facing 10 other acts after surviving the public vote in the first week.

But on Saturday night their rendition of Rod Stewart's You're In My Heart failed to win enough votes from the public.

It was left to the judges to decide whether to keep the lads or the more mature soloist Rob.

And with Louis Walsh choosing to save 4Sure and Sharon Osborne picking her own act, it was left to Simon Cowell to make the final decision. He had already told the group "If you heard that on the radio you would think you were listening to four 80-year-olds", and opted to keep Rob in the competition to win a life-changing record contract.

But Drew told the Express & Star the band was pleased with their performance and would be on stage again soon.

He said: "We have had great support from people in the Midlands and we won't let that go to waste.

"We want to step forward from this competition, perform more and hopefully record some material for release."

He said facing the judges at the end was "nerve-wracking" and the band had no idea who would progress until Simon made his decision.

He said: "It was hard being in the bottom two, especially against Rob who is such a great performer. I really couldn't say who will win X Factor because everyone is so talented. Ben is amazing, Rob performs out of his skin, Leona has a voice from heaven and Ray is like a young Robbie Williams."

The singer said the whole experience had been overwhelming and the band were now facing the national media starting with an interview on GMTV this morning.

He said: "In the last few weeks we've met Lionel Richie and Rod Stewart and performed live in front of millions of people. It has been an amazing ride."

The band also received encouraging comments from the judges.

YOUR COMMENTS:

"I think 4Sure was very good. I liked u, and my friends did and I hope you get another chance. I think it was just that Rod Stewart was just not your type of music to sing."
