Groups support bra campaign

We asked you to sign up to our cancer campaign - and you have done so in splendid style with more than 50 groups pledging their support. The Express & Star has received dozens of registration forms for our Thanks For Your Support campaign, with people from all walks of life agreeing to donate their old bras.

At the last count we had 52 different individuals or organisations signed up to our campaign, run in conjunction with Macmillan Cancer Support.

We hope this is only the start, so please keep sending in the forms.

Pub landladies, line dancers, schools and shop workers are among the many of our readers who have come out in force to back the campaign.

Boldly

Many of you have become involved because your lives have been touched by cancer. Others were keen to back a worthy cause.

Two people boldly declared their reason for signing up was simply because: "We are women and you never know."

Denise Nicholls, founder of Black Country line dancing troupe Dixie Kickers, has registered the group to the campaign and said she hopes her female members will soon show their support by donating their bras. The campaign, run in conjunction with Macmillan Cancer Support, needs you to register to take part to to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

We want companies, schools, colleges, groups, perhaps streets to register and encourage as many people as possible to donate their old bras and bikini tops for recycling while collecting £1 from each person at the same time. Starting on November 3, recycling firm JP Wilcox of Bilston, along with a Macmillan representative, will collect all the bras and money.

To register, fill in the form and it to Thanks For Your Support Campaign Promotions Department, Express & Star, Queen Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1ES or log onto www.expressandstar.co.uk/macmillan and sign up on-line. If you have any queries call 01902 319362.
