Wolves fan to break golden rule
Wolves fan Neville Price may break the 'golden' rule he was given by his West Bromwich Albion-supporting boss should his side secure him bragging rights with a win on derby day.
The 47-year-old Molineux season ticket holder was told never to wear anything gold and black to work at Pennwood Kitchens in Fallings Park, Wolverhampton.
But the showroom manager has threatened to take his team shirt to work if Wolves win at West Bromwich on Sunday.
The rival fans have been locked in football banter ahead of the first game between the two sides for five years and cannot wait for kick off.
Mr Price, of Rudyard Close, Fordhouses, who has two Wolves supporting sons, said: "When I had an interview for the job I was told not to wear anything gold and black at any stage, but if we win I will be coming into work with my Wolves strip next week.
"We have had some good friendly banter and it is building up now because both teams are doing well.
"I am quietly confident and I think Wolves will win 2-1.
"I think it is one of the biggest rivalries in the whole country and everybody is talking about it. It means the world to most Wolves fans and for me it is local pride."
Company owner Peter Stokes, 53, of Kingswinford, had an Albion season ticket for eight years and his Volvo's number plate is PS53 WBA.
He cannot get to the game as he runs Stourton Lions junior football club in Stourbridge, but said he hoped for a 3-1 win for the Baggies.
Mr Stokes, a married father-of-two also condemned any football hooligans who attend the game as "not real fans".
"I am looking forward to it but I am a little bit apprehensive because of the violence and hooliganism more than anything," he said.
"I don't like anything like that and a lot of innocent people could get caught up in this."
