Christmas & Easter in November
The BBC's Songs of Praise is to film an Easter and Christmas specials at Lichfield Cathedral - in November. The cathedral will be decorated for Candlelit Carols for Christmas, which will be recorded on November 22 and broadcast on December 17.
The Christmas decorations will be brought down and replaced with an Easter theme when a Music for Easter Sunday service is recorded the day after - ready to be shown on April 8 next year.
The flagship religious programme is taking advantage of having recording equipment in place for the filming over the two days.
Both shows will be presented by former Olympic gold medallist Jonathan Edwards.
They will also include a specially formed ecumenical choir, made up of singers from churches and choirs in the area. Entry will be restricted to tickets only.
