Les Dennis tour show cancelled

TV funnyman and former Family Fortunes host Les Dennis's Wolverhampton show has been pulled just weeks before he was due to take to the stage.

The star was set to star in Marlon Brando's Corset alongside comedian Mike McShane and Hollyoaks and Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards.

But the show's bosses have announced they would be cutting short their national tour, which included five shows in Wolverhampton next month.

Iain Watkins, spokesman for the Grand Theatre, said the production was meant to be touring for 14 weeks but the management had now decided to slash it to eight.

He added: "We were in the second part of that tour and so our dates have been cancelled. It is very frustrating for us. It has been a very popular show by all accounts.

"There was also an excellent cast. We have not been given a proper reason as to why Marlon Brando's Corset has been pulled."

Instead the Ray Cooney farce Funny Money will be performed at the theatre from October 23 to October 27, starring former Eastenders actor John Altman, who played nasty Nick Cotton.
