Earls Court 51 Edition celebrates the first 356 coupe shown at the UK show.

Porsche is celebrating its history with a special-edition of its 911 GT3.

The 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition harks back to the original 356 coupe which was revealed at the show in 1951.

Set to be revealed to the public at the upcoming Icons of Porsche, Sunstede Silverstone Edition event this weekend (June 20/21), the special-edition car will be limited to just 51 examples with each costing £251,951.

Based on the 911 GT3 with Touring Package, the Earls Court Edition is finished in a specially-developed exterior colour which is similar to that applied to one of the 356 cars displayed at the Earls Court show 75 years ago.

Inside, there are plenty of nods to the classic model with a mix of corduroy and leather used throughout. The leather, in particular, is in a mix of green and beige with green stitching, while a wood veneer inlay helps to bring a more traditional finish.

Open the door and there’s the embossed silhouette of the 356 on the driver’s side, while flipping down the sunvisors reveals a Union Jack motif. The headrests get the ‘Earls Court 51’ logo, too.

As with the standard GT3, the Earls Court 51 car uses a 4.0-litre flat-six engine with 503bhp, which can be linked to either a six-speed manual or PDK automatic transmission.

Each car will also come with a bespoke Porsche Design Chronograph watch, a weekender bag in green leather to match the interior of the 911 and a 1:18 scale model of the car itself.
