The former Spice Girl has given her brown bob – nicknamed the Pob – the boot in favour of a blonde hairdo.

Her locks have been chopped short and bright blonde hairlights have been threaded though her brunette hair.

Pictures of her new image were circulated yesterday and within hours fashion fans from across the Black Country and Staffordshire were copying her hairstyle.

Stylists at Royston Blythe hair salon in Compton, Wolverhampton, were inundated with requests from clients keen to get the new Posh look, said salon partner and hairdresser to the stars Nick Malenko.

And one of their customers sporting the new look is 33-year-old Lesha Park, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Mrs Beckham.

Lesha, of Coppenhall, Stafford, walked in with beyond shoulder length hair and emerged from the salon with the Posh look.

"I arrived at the salon in need of a good cut and as I've had my hair long for such a long time I was keen for a different style such as a short bob," said the freelance writer.

"Nick showed me the pictures of Victoria Beckham's new hair cut which I liked so I left it in his capable hands and this is what he produced," added Lesha, who runs Word Out Publicity.

"I really love it. It's a great style," said the mother-of-one, who recreated Victoria's look – complete with huge bug-eye shades. Stylist Nick said he was not surprised Victoria's new haircut was proving so popular.

"Since she got rid of her extensions she's looked so much better and with her shift to blonde she looks fantastic.

"She looks like a modern day Twiggy," said Nick, who has tended the tresses of stars including Hollywood actress Melanie Griffiths and supermodel Jordan.

He said many of his clients were keen to get the new look.

"By lunchtime yesterday we'd given five people the Victoria style hairdo. Several of the girls brought in the newspapers featuring Victoria and her new look," he said.

Victoria, 32, has always turned heads when it comes to showing off striking styles.

Last year, she caused a stir by ditching her trademark hair extensions for a sleek, short bob, known as the Pob.

But she has gone the whole way and chopped more off the back while adding blonde highlights.
