Wolverhampton is mad fer it as Oasis tribute band set to star at WonderWolves event in city centre
Market Square will be transformed into Heaton Square this September as Oasis Forever head to the West Midlands.
In an event part-funded by the government, WonderWolves will bring Britpop to Wolverhampton city centre on Saturday, September 13.
Britpop Reunion, the UK’s only professional 90s and Britpop tribute band with over a decade of experience, will deliver a high energy set packed with hits from classic bands who have supported Oasis over the years including The Verve, Cast, Blur, Dodgy, Supergrass, Pulp, Ocean Colour Scene and much more.
And Oasis Forever, the ultimate tribute band to one of Britain’s most iconic bands, promise to capture the swagger, attitude and unmistakeable sound of Oasis.
The day is partly supported by a share of £11,200 given to City of Wolverhampton Council by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Councillor Chris Burden, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for City Development, said: “We’re just a few weeks away from what is set to be a fantastic night of live music.
“I strongly encourage everyone to purchase their tickets before the event to get the best price possible and make sure they don’t miss out.”
WonderWolves takes place on Saturday 13 September from 4pm–9pm at Market Square in Wolverhampton city centre. Tickets are priced £8.50 in advance and £10 on the day (including booking fees).
Crowds can expect a nostalgia-fuelled set to get everyone warmed up before the headliners take to the stage.
Meanwhile, versatile world music DJ Tony J will also on hand with a set including the best of Britpop and Indie music to keep attendees entertained.
The event is for those aged 14+ only; those aged 14-15 will need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or older.
