Tram passengers across Birmingham and Wolverhampton are facing disruption on Monday, March 2, as services on the West Midlands Metro are affected by engineering works and a private event in the city centre.

In Wolverhampton, there will be no tram service between The Royal and Wolverhampton Station from 6.30pm on Sunday evening and throughout Monday morning. The disruption is due to engineering works.

West Midlands Metro said trams will continue to run between The Royal and Edgbaston Village only. Passengers travelling to or from Wolverhampton Station will need to make alternative arrangements until normal services resume.

Meanwhile in Birmingham, services will be temporarily curtailed on Monday afternoon because of a private event taking place in Centenary Square.

According to Transport for West Midlands, between 1.13pm and around 2.15pm, trams will terminate at Grand Central. There will be no through service to Edgbaston Village during this period.

The interruption is expected to last just over an hour, but passengers travelling through the city centre are being urged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.

Normal services are expected to resume after the event concludes.

Commuters are advised to check for the latest updates before travelling.
