As the tune goes, "Give 'em the old Razzle Dazzle", and, boy, did the cast of Chicago do that last night at the Grand Theatre.

And it's the battle of the soap stars as ex-Hollyoaks stars Ali Bastian and Stefan Booth are joined by Corrie's Tupele Dorgu in a showdown of talent rarely seen outside of the West End.

It would seem that tales of self-promotion via the Press and becoming famous for all the wrong reasons were as notorious in 1920s Chicago as they are today.

When wannabe star and murderess Roxie Hart meets double killer Velma Kelly in jail, the rivals set about getting off the hook while at the same time ensuring their rise to fame, all with the help of infamous lawyer, Billy Flynn.

There have been countless touring versions of Chicago over the years, but this current production is most certainly the slickest.

Unmissable. Runs until Saturday.
