Theatre-goers promised night of sequins, seduction and self-discovery when Burlesque The Musical hits Wolverhampton theatre
A musical full of lights, glamour and finding a voice amid a family of misfits is set to hit the stage at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre.
Burlesque The Musical, based on the Golden Globe Best Picture-nominated film starring Christina Aguilera and Cher and written and directed by Steven Antin, will be coming to Wolverhampton's largest theatre from April 6 to April 10, 2027.
The musical tells the story of Ali, who heads to New York in search of her mother and finds herself drawn into a dazzling underground world where the beat of the music and the heat of the dance moves will change her life forever.
As the story progresses, Ali will unwittingly find her extraordinary voice and a most unlikely family of misfits, dreamers, and schemers.

A spokesman for the Grand Theatre said: "Burlesque The Musical is a scintillating journey of self-discovery that absolutely sizzles with songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley and Todrick Hall.
"Welcome to Burlesque The Musical, the glamorous, gritty and outrageously fun new musical based on the much-loved hit movie that reminds us Life Isn’t Fair... It’s Fabulous.
"Discover a club like no other; a place beneath the city lights where the sequins sparkle, seduction shimmers, and a life can change in the flick of a feather boa."
The cast and creative team are to be announced soon, with tickets going on sale to friends of the theatre and members on Tuesday, February 10 at 10am, and general sale on Thursday, February 12 at 10am, starting from £25.
