'Cum on and Feel the Noize' as popular Slade fans weekend returns to celebrate the Wolverhampton music legends

It's set to be a big weekend of glam fun and music as fans of one of the region's most famous bands come together.

The Slade Fans Convention started on Friday at the Wolverhampton Arts Centre, with fans of the band being encouraged to wear their best glam rock outfits and sing along to all the band's biggest hits.

The convention celebrates the work of Dave Hill, Noddy Holder, Jim Lea and Don Powell, with the band being named the most popular band of the 1970s based on sales of singles, including 17 consecutive top 20 hits and six number ones on the UK Singles Chart.

Fans at the convention will be able to hear the hits, such as "Coz I Luv You", "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", "Cum On Feel The Noize", "Look Wot You Dun and their biggest hit, and a festive staple, "Merry Xmas Everybody"

There are also tribute bands taking to the stage of the Wolverhampton Arts Centre as part of the convention on Friday and Saturday, including Slade UK, who are performing for the first time in six years, on Friday, and Sladest, who have headlined the festival in 2023 and 2024.

A spokesman for Wolverhampton Arts Centre said: "So here it is, the ultimate Slade fans weekend featuring the two best Slade tribute artists in the world

"Friday night sees the return of Slade UK after an absence of six years and their reputation as one of the most authentic and hard-hitting tribute acts on the live circuit stands before them, so this will be a chance to see and feel the noize for yourself.

"Saturday night sees the return of Sladest following their triumphant headline appearances in 2023 and 2024, with their reputation built over the last couple of years as one of the most authentic and hard-hitting tribute acts on the live circuit.

"Main support will be perennial favourites Pouk Hill Prophetz with further special guests to be announced.

"This will be a fantastic opportunity to experience wall-to-wall Seventies hard rock and glam in the spiritual birthplace of the Black Country Fab Four, in a venue that lends itself perfectly to the power and energy of that magical time gone by.
