Popular scarecrow festival returns for weekend of fun, exploration and creativity around Coven

The return of a popular scarecrow festival has seen the community around Coven showcase their creative side to help raise much-needed funds for local charities.

The biannual festival has seen 83 entries in the festival and brought people from the village and further afield to walk around and try to find them all between Friday, September 5 and Sunday, September 7.

Maps of the scarecrow route have been available to buy from shops in the village for £2 and have allowed those looking to see the different scarecrows, which range from Toy Story to Super Mario to Spongebob Squarepants and Pikachu.

The festival map asks people to note down their favourite scarecrow ahead of the winner being announced when votes are counted on Sunday evening.

The winner will take home a £50 prize, with the runner-up to be handed a £25 prize, and third place to win £10.
