Kaiser Chiefs bring a riot of nostalgia and fun as 20th anniversary tour comes to resounding end in Wolverhampton
It was a night of celebration and nostalgia for those in attendance as one of the most popular indie bands of the noughties hit the stage of an iconic city venue.
The floor and seats of the Wolverhampton Civic Hall were full to bursting point on Saturday night as Kaiser Chiefs brought their More Employment tour to a close with a resounding night of entertainment.
The tour was the last leg of the 20th anniversary of the band's debut album "Employment" and there were plenty of songs played from that album, as well as hits from albums such as "Yours Truly, Angry Mob", "Off with their heads" and "Stay Together".
The first part of the show saw Ricky Wilson, Andrew White, Simon Rix, Peanut and Vijay Mistry play the album in its entirety, with plenty of opportunities for those in attendance to sing along with their favourites, while the encore allowed for a cover of the Ramones "Blitzkreig Bop" and a final romp of "The Angry Mob" to finish the show.
It was a night for reflection and celebration as those who first heard "I predict a riot", "Oh my god" and "Born to be a dancer" revelled in the chance to sing along and have a dance.
For their part, the band were in good form, with Ricky Wilson in particular dancing and running about like a man half his 48 years and getting the crowd amped up.
These photos from Andy Cox Photography show the spectacle of the show and how much Employment the Chiefs still have 20 years later:
