Dudley College hall set to host night of song and remembrance at special concert
It's set to be a powerful night of music and remembering those who bravely fought for and who fell for their country in armed conflict.
Volunteers from the Dudley Remembers Group are putting on the concert on November 6 at Dudley College Broadway Campus main hall.
It is being organised by a committee including Dudley's Poppy Appeal organiser Rose Cook-Monk, former Dudley Mayor Steve Waltho and ex Forces members Ian Rawlings and Alan Graham plus other volunteers including staff from Dudley College.
Chair of the committee Ian Rawlings said "The concert has become a sell-out favourite for the public of Dudley.
"The first half is a solemn and respectful service of remembrance led by Reverend James Treasure followed by a more informal concert led by The Gentlemen Songsters Male Voice Choir of which myself and Steve are members, Sovereign Brass and other performers.
"It should be a great evening with proceeds going to the Royal British Legion".

Steve Waltho said it was an honour each year to be able to put on the event and said the fact the college provided the venue for no charge helped to make it a special evening for all ages.
He said: "We're very proud that it's still an event, and a very major one each year, for the Gentlemen Songsters, of which I'm a proud member.
"We have previously held it at the town hall, but we were looking at other venues due to cost, and we got contacts at the college and asked them if they could put it on for us.
"They said yes and were honoured to be able to offer it to us free of charge, which is wonderful and the way it has been since, and each year has been a sell-out and something we are really proud of."
The concert takes place at Dudley College Broadway Campus main hall on Thursday November 6th commencing 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £7.50 and can be obtained via the Gentlemen Songsters website.
