Thousands of teenage girls donned their One Direction T-shirts and waved 'Marry Me' banners to see band members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Wolverhampton-born Liam Payne perform.

It was a return to the NEC stage for the band, but last time they were part of the X Factor tour line-up. In fact, the boys only actually came third in the TV talent contest in 2010.
