Soul legend Lionel Richie is to play Birmingham's LG Arena in October, in a night full of his best-loved hits and new material from his long-awaited Tuskegee album.

Lionel Richie plays the LG Arena on Friday, October 26, 2012. Tickets go on sale at 9.30am on Monday, March 5, priced at £65, £50, £40, plus booking and transaction fees, and are available from The Ticket Factory at www.theticketfactory.com or on 0844 338 8000.

Known for hits like Hello, Dancing on the Ceiling, My Love and All Night Long, Richie's latest album Tuskegee, named after his place of birth, is set for release on March 12, and features re-recorded versions of 14 of his biggest hits. He has teamed up with the likes of Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and even Pixie Lott for a series of special duets.

Richie's appearance at the LG Arena comes as part of a European tour that will take him to Austria, Belgium, Finland, Monaco and beyond. It is his first European tour since 2009 and marks almost 25 years since his first solo shows.

Audiences are never disappointed with Richie's exuberant live shows which deliver a mix of material from a 30-plus-year career from the memorable early days of the Commodores, to the sweet serenades of his 80s piano ballads and more recent up tempo pop material from the Noughties.

Richie's career has seen him rack up sales of more than 100 million albums, 22 top 10's, five Grammys, an Oscar for Best Original Score, a Golden Globe and a host of other awards from virtually every major entertainment organisation.
