2.54 are a genuine Sister Act. Collette and Hannah Thurlow have earned rave reviews and created an internet buzz for their angsty, sulky tunes.

They've appeared around the UK and in recent times have wowed audiences on the Camden Crawl and at Brighton's Great Escape Festival.

Songs like Creeping, On a Wire and Cold Front have been dark and brooding.

Their EP, Scarlet, was decidedly atmospheric and a limited edition run of blue vinyl pressings quickly sold out. Their shoegaze-ery guitars and effortless cool have made 2.54 one of the UK's most hotly-tipped duos.

Locals will get the chance to see what all the fuss is about when they hit the road as part of a UK tour.

They will reach Birmingham's HMV Institute on Thursday, February 16. More details are available at www.myspace.com/thetwofiftyfour
