Ruby, Ruby, Ruby and I Predict a Riot lyrics will once again be sung in venues across the country as the Kaiser Chiefs return with their first UK tour in almost two years.

Fresh faced and full of enthusiasm, the chart-toppers are back on the music scene and ready to bring their latest sounds to fans across the county.

The five-piece rock group have been spending their time reconnecting with creativity and producing new material.

Now fans across the region will get to hear it live when the band arrives in Birmingham tonight (Friday, February 3, 2011) for a gig at the city's O2 Academy.

The band's bassist Simon Rix said: "Being back on stage is just the same as it was before and that's a positive.

"We thought it would be a bit of a culture shock because we had done about two years without a gig. But it is fine.

"When we go on stage it is always exciting."

He said having a break helped them nurture their passion for music.

He said: "I think in anybody's life, whatever you do, when you do it every day you start to take it for granted. We got to the stage where in about 2008 brilliant things would happen to us but we just took it for granted.

"We were doing brilliant gigs in front of people and we always enjoyed it but, with the travel and being away and other things, we just lost a bit of enthusiasm.

"I think we are at our best, song writing-wise, when we are commenting on everyday life. But when you are on tour the whole time, it is not as inspirational. You get cut off from reality."

Kaiser Chefs released their album The Future is Medieval in 2011 while touring festivals including Glastonbury and V Festival.

Rix said he was looking forward to the UK tour and revealed audiences will get to hear some of the band's popular hits as well as some new ones from its fourth album.

He said: "The new album is definitely different and it is a lot more varied.

"There is a lot more electronic and acoustic stuff.

"But at the heart of it we are still the Kaiser Chiefs and the fourth album is us playing and singing and doing our thing."

Tickets for Kaiser Chiefs 2012 UK tour cost about £25 from www.gigsandtours.com or on 0844 811 0051.
