The statistics make for phenomenal reading. Never Shout Never, word-of-mouth sensation that is 20-year-old Missourian Christofer Drew, have racked up more than 2.5 million Facebook fans and a staggering 157 million plays at MySpace.

The band – completed by Caleb Denison, Taylor MacFee and Hayden Kaiser – released a debut album this month, called Time Travel.

And now British fans can find out what all the fuss is about when Never Shout Never play a whistle stop UK tour, which starts at Birmingham's O2 Academy tonight.

Time Travel is Drew's first album with a full band and embraces a lush sound with fuller instrumentation.

He said: "I just wanted it to be different than anything that we've done; I wanted it to be a little more trippy."

Tickets, priced £14, are available from www.o2academybirmingham.co.uk
