Singer Michael Weston King is appearing on stage at Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton tonight (Friday).

It will be a night of protest songs and most of the set will be based around last year's protest song collection album I Didn't Raise My Boy To Be A Soldier.

The 51-year-old is known for his lyrical and melancholic songs, his sonorous voice, as well as his dry, on-stage humour.

In October 1999, King released his debut solo album, God Shaped Hole.

In 2002, King released Live. . . In Dinky Town. Next came A Decent Man and September 2004 saw the release of Cosmic Fireworks – The Best of The Good Sons as well as Absent Friends.

In 2010, King released I Didn't Raise My Boy to Be A Soldier.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 on the door. Call the centre in Dunkley Street on 01902 572090.
