I got a party makeover at a celebrity artist brand which has just launched in Birmingham with the most gorgeous lipsticks
A make up brand from one of the world’s leading artists has recently launched in Birmingham so I went along to check it out and discovered some amazing lipsticks and more
She’s worked with Chanel, Shidesido and Lancome while styling a host of the world’s most famous women including Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Hurley and Victoria Beckham.
In fact it might be quicker to list some of the celebrities that internationally renowned make up artist Lisa Eldridge hasn’t worked with.
Now her eponymous make up brand has launched in Birmingham Selfridges and it’s winning over a host of new fans.
It’s the first time the glamorous make up range has had a dedicated counter in our second city, it launched as part of the huge refurbishment of Selfridges beauty hall which is now the biggest outside London.
And, as part of the celebrations to mark the new era for the brand which already has thousands of followers, they are offering new customers a free makeover in December and January.
It sounded like an offer too good to miss, so I went along to try it out.
The Birmingham team were so welcoming when I arrived. There are so many gorgeous products, it was exciting to take a look around the whole range on show at Selfridges with one of the resident makeup artists who was so knowledgeable about all of the products.
The Lisa Eldridge brand began in London in 2019 with a new style of lipstick called True Velvet.

I was won over by the amazing name immediately - but it was the vibrance of the colours that really stood out when I took a look.
The colours are stunning. I love red lipstick. It was almost permanently plastered on my lips throughout my 20s and 30s, although I don’t always wear it as much as I would like these days.
So you may not be surprised to hear that I was instantly drawn to beautiful Velvet Ribbon lipstick - it really is a show stopper.
An iconic red it gleamed with classic luxury and style with the richest matte colour with an elegant shimmer.
I couldn’t wait to see how it looked on my lips. There were other tempting colours in the iconic range, but I was keen to try a party makeover, what with the festive season in full swing and decided that would be the best option on this occasion.
I wasn’t disappointed. I was delighted with the result when I finally got to see it on my face. It really is one of the most gorgeous red lipsticks I have ever tried. It was enhanced further with the Ribbon lip pencil, soft and shapely, which was applied after I had splodged the lipstick on my lips - a nice tip to refine the lipstick rather than putting the lip liner on first, which I appreciated.
And the lipsticks weren’t the only products that are putting this make up range in the spotlight.
Lisa has got millions of followers on her Youtube channel where she offers some expert tips on her techniques which she uses on her world famous clients and she is especially renowned for her trademark Kitten flick eye liner.
She’s brought out her own Kitten Flick Liquid Eyeliner and Kitten Lash Mascara. It’s a fabulous look.

I adored how it added a touch of glamour to my makeover. I also loved the iconic Burnt Umber shade for the mascara which was also the shade my Lisa Eldridge makeup artist used for my eyeliner.
This is unlike any other shade of mascara and eyeliner I have used before. The rich dark reddish brown tones complemented my complexion perfectly - a true colour of the earth found in natural clay, it was nice to feel nature was inspiring my party look.
Another new product for me was the Liquid Silk and Lurex Eyeshadow ranges . I have used liquid shadows in the past, but not for absolutely ages.
And it felt so natural to go back to a more moist application of colour on my eyes. Again the range was full of sensational colours.
My makeup expert used products named Phoebe and Irene for the base which glided on perfectly. For a touch of sparkle it was difficult to choose between the brown shade of Angelica or lighter tint from Daphne. In the end I chose Anjelica with my Lisa Eldrige makeup artist blending this with the lighter Cressida. It was amazing. I’ll definitely have to try Daphne at some point. They are such gorgeous products that made my eyes truly pop.
My look was particularly elevated to the quality Seamless Skin Foundation, available in 40 shades no less. It had a silky feel and several ingredients also used in skincare for moisture-locking and skin-smoothing properties creating a breathable barrier.
This was complemented with a Skin Enhancing Tint from the range and a Pinpoint Concealor.

The concealer comes in the shape of a Micro Correctly Pencil, which really does do what it says on the tin - pinpoint those areas that you particularly want to conceal. Quite a specific approach and a welcome approach, so far as I was concerned.
It’s fabulous to try a different approach to makeup and refresh a look now and again. If you fancy trying out a new makeup look too, then it’s definitely worth popping by the Lisa Eldridge counter in Selfridges. You will love the gorgeous colours and refreshing new approach. And with the free makeovers available in December and January you’ve got nothing to lose! Definitely a wonderful opportunity to freshen up your party look - or begin a new style for the new year.
