Dudley's top six pubs ranked according to the Campaign for Real Ale, including the pub of the year
One of the Black Country's best-known brewery taps has been voted Dudley and South Staffordshire's pub of the year.
The Vine in Brierley Hill, better known as the Bull & Bladder, has been awarded the title by the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) for the second year running.
The pub, which traces its roots back to the 1820s, has been home to Batham's Brewery for the past 120 years.
John Corser, chairman of Dudley and South Staffordshire Camra, said the winner was selected from six finalists following judging from branch members in recent weeks.
He said the pub, which was rebuilt in 1912, come out on top by a narrow margin over the Malt Shovel in Tower Street, Dudley town centre, which took second place.

Third place went to previous winner, The Bird in Hand in John Street, Wordsley, while former national finalist, the Beacon Hotel in Bilston Street, Sedgley, came fourth.

Fifth place went to another Sedgley pub, the Mount Pleasant in High Street, commonly known as 'The Stump'.
The Old Bush in High Street, Wombourne, was sixth and was also the winner of the branch's South Staffordshire pub of the year award. It is part of the Black Country Ales chain of pubs.
The Vine will be presented with its award on April 13, during a meeting which starts at 7pm.

The Old Bush will receive its award during a branch scoring social in Wombourne on April 4.
The Vine and The Old Bush will be put forward for the West Midlands county and Staffordshire county rounds of Camra's national pub of the year competition.
